Today, 15 July, marks the anniversary of the birth of Emmeline Pankhurst
Born on 15 July 1858, Pankhurst is best remembered for organizing the UK suffragette movement and helping women to win the right.
If Emmeline was alive in 2022, she would have a huge social media following as a political activist.
She was named by Time magazine as one of the 100 most important people of the 20th century. Stating that "she shaped an idea of objects for our time" and "shook society into a new pattern from which there could be no going back".
Emmeline Pankhurst and all the women of the suffragette movement worked hard to change the voting laws in the UK, and these changes affected many other voting rights in other countries.
What would they think of what is happening in the USA currently with women's rights?
